I'm driven by two loves: the intricate art of woodworking and the rich history of trading cards. My goal was to craft a frame that would transform cards into the works of art they truly are. With my Craftsman Style Frames, I believe I've hit that mark, a frame born from the hands of a seasoned woodworker, showcasing the natural allure of the wood, and conceived by a card collector who understands the value of the card. It's where the craftsmanship meets collector's pride, making each card display not just seen, but truly admired.

In creating my frames, the journey begins with the wood. While the construction of these frames is not inherently complex, crafting them correctly is an art of precision and patience. I delve into wood piles, seeking out those rare pieces that possess outstanding character and undeniable allure. Each frame is carefully fashioned in small batches, typically from a single board's worth, to ensure color consistency and grain harmony throughout.

During the process, I am meticulous in my approach, ensuring that the wood's most compelling features are prominently displayed on the frame's face. These are not simply frames; they are showcases of the wood's natural beauty, where every grain and knot has a story to tell.

Adhering to the craftsman style, I don't hide the construction. Instead, the splines and pins that bind the frame are proudly displayed, offering a glimpse into the integrity of the work. These frames feature a triad of woods, mostly domestic hardwoods for the main structure, accented with exotic varieties for a subtle yet impactful contrast. The interplay of these materials, along with the distinction between end grain and long grain, gives the frame sides their own compelling narrative, often stealing the spotlight.

For the glass, I use Artglass AR 99, renowned for its clarity, protecting and preserving what lies within. The spacers, made from the same domestic hardwoods as the frame, extend the wood's presence, creating an uninterrupted flow of natural elegance. From any angle, this frame is a sight to behold, its allure deepening with every change in perspective. It's a frame designed not just for display, but for daily discovery and lasting admiration

For years, I've chosen fabric as the backdrop for my frames, initially out of necessity, but I quickly realized its superiority. Fabric offers a boldness, a depth, and a spectrum of color choices that traditional matting simply can't match. My selection spans from the classic Duckcloth and sumptuous Crushed Velvet to the more exotic Faux Furs and shimmering metallic Lames, and everything in between. It's the background that truly brings the frame to life, and I revel in the vast array of options I can offer, each capable of turning your card into a singular piece of art.

My commitment is to provide complete customization, from the frame to the background, while ensuring the process is as interactive and personal as possible. With webcam mock-ups, you can see exactly how your card will look and feel part of the creative process. It's like bringing the bespoke experience of a traditional frame shop into the digital age, where you have full control over the crafting of your frame. My aim is to blend that old-school, hands-on customer service with the convenience of online shopping, ensuring you're not just satisfied but truly delighted with the final piece.

Every frame I design is tailored to showcase 35pt slabbed cards or raw cards in holders, elevating them with a raised background mount that sets the card as the centerpiece. We secure the card with robust double-sided tape, and an acrylic film commonly used for card fronts ensures your slabbed treasure remains unscathed.

In the past, I experimented with branding my frames, but I found it didn't fully capture the craftsmanship invested in each piece. Now, I hand paint my logo on every frame as a testament to the bespoke effort and individuality that defines them.

But I'm not stopping there. I'm actively exploring ways to broaden the use of my Craftsman Style Frame, working on offering services for custom-sized frames that cater to a diverse array of keepsakes.

Choosing one of my frames means bringing a piece of my passion into your home. I take great joy in crafting these frames, and I'm excited about the prospect of your favorite cards, photos, or collectibles being displayed on your wall for your daily enjoyment. The love for what I do is woven into every frame, and I look forward to crafting the perfect showcase for your valued items

Thank You
